I’ve taken an entrepreneurial approach to most of what I’ve accomplished throughout my advertising career.
I established, created and grew the media departments at a new to Canada agency (Chiat/Day) and within an existing agency (Dentsu) that had previously outsourced its media planning. In both agencies, I learned about the critical importance of close media/creative development, now too often an afterthought within the larger media agencies.
I founded and grew my own media agency, David Cairns and Company, then negotiated its purchase by Carat to become the Toronto Carat office.
I understand business challenges. I’ve experienced them. I know what running a business is all about. I’m a lateral thinker. Cracking the business problem is what I live for.
